Team Spotlight: Elizabeth Hudson

Meet Elizabeth Hudson: Moorman Photographics’ Office Manager

Hi, I’m Elizabeth Hudson, and I’ve had the privilege of joining the Moorman Photographics team as Rob and Tina’s Office Manager in May 2024.

Before coming on board, I worked in administration at a local charter school and didn’t have any experience with photography. I thought I knew what a good photo looked like—after all, I’d been snapping pictures with my smartphone like everyone else. But working here has completely changed how I see photography.

Eye-Opening Lessons from the Pros

Watching Rob and Tina at work has been an eye-opening experience. I’ve always been proud of the pictures I took with my phone, especially for family photo shoots where I thought I’d nailed the locations and angles. But sharing those images with Rob and Tina was a revelation—they gently pointed out things I’d never noticed, like awkward hand positions, harsh lighting, and distracting background elements. It made me realize just how much goes into creating a truly memorable and artistic photograph.

Rob’s Masterful Approach

Rob’s process is fascinating. He approaches every image with meticulous attention to detail—carefully considering composition, lighting, and subject positioning. Seeing how he creates the perfect lighting setup is like watching a master at work. It’s not just about the equipment; it’s about the artistry and skill that come with years of training and experience.

Tina’s Magic Touch

Then there’s Tina, who works her magic during the editing process. She enhances and retouches every photo with a level of precision and artistry I didn’t know was possible. Her editing doesn’t just improve images—it elevates them, bringing out their full potential without ever compromising their natural beauty.

Why Printing Matters

I’m also learning about the importance of quality printing materials. Moorman Photographics uses photo paper with a special coating that produces rich colors and sharp details, making the images not just beautiful but enduring. Whether it’s a matte, luster, or glossy finish, every print feels like a piece of art.

A New Appreciation for True Artistry

Now, when I look back at the family photos I’ve taken, I see all the opportunities for improvement I missed. If more people could see their favorite smartphone images side by side with professionally crafted photos, they’d be amazed at the difference.

I know I am! From now on, I’m leaving my family portraits to the professionals here at Moorman Photographics. Watching Rob and Tina has shown me the true artistry and care behind every image—and that’s something you just can’t replicate with a smartphone.
