Portraiture is the studio's oldest work and still its largest: families who have come back across three decades, seniors, small children, and the dog.
Sessions run in the Saint Petersburg studio or somewhere that means something to you — the beach, the house, the yard.
Photographed by Moorman Photographics, a locally owned studio on 16th Street North in Saint Petersburg, working across Tampa Bay for over thirty years.
The studio, or somewhere that means something
A studio gives you control: consistent light, no weather, no schedule, and backgrounds you choose. It is the right answer when the picture is about the people and nothing else.
On location gives you context — the house, the beach, the yard the children grew up in. The place becomes part of what the photograph is about, which is why families often come back to the same spot across years.
Photographing every age in one frame
An extended family portrait can span eighty years, and the youngest and oldest people in it need opposite things. Toddlers need speed; older relatives need somewhere to sit and not to be kept standing.
Working quickly and having a plan before everyone is assembled is most of what makes those sessions pleasant rather than an ordeal.
